Does having a lower pH cause more acid?

im not so smart with this stuff, but what causes the acid? like a lower ph, or a higher ph?

  1. Actually, a substance being more acidic results in a lower pH, not the other way around.

    pH is just short for "concentration of H+ ions".


  2. lower pH means more acidic compared to higher pH.

    pH = -log [H+]

    more [H+] more stonger is the acid

    Say pH=1 and pH=4

    in case of pH =1, [H+] = 0.1 and for pH =4, it would be 0.0001

  3. lower ph is acidic and higher ph is alcaline
