  1. No it doesn't really hurt. You might feel a pinch from the injection, but nothing bad. You do feel a pulling sensation, but the dentists doesn't hold your head on and use pliers.

  2. Most dentists use a topical anesthetic that they apply with a cotton swab to the injection point in your mouth before they administer the actual anesthetic by injection.  This dulls the pain of the injection; athough you'll feel some pressure that may seem uncomfortable, but it shouldn't really hurt, or hurt real bad.  If it does, tell the dentist.

Likewise, the actual extraction shouldn't hurt either.  If you're not fully numbed, and you do feel pain, tell the dentist and they should administer more anesthetic.  You'll feel something though -- pressure, discomfort, that sort of thing -- so just cowgirl up and you'll be okay.  It will hurt afterwards too, but you should also get a pain prescription for that too.

Good luck!  It'll all be over soon.....

  3. I just had my top two wisdom teeth pulled a week ago.  He numbed me really well so all I felt was pressure, no pain.  It did hurt for almost a week afterward though.  I took asprin and the pain wasnt too bad.  I am sure it will be better with only one tooth that isnt a wisdom tooth.

  4. My dentist put some numbing medicine on the injection site. When he gives me the shot in my mouth I do feel it a little but it is not painful. I always get the gas to calm me down. It helps to. The worst part for me is when the feeling starts to come back in your mouth and you really can't eat or drink anything unless you want it all over your clothes. I hope this helped you some.

  5. It doesn't hurt at all it just feels weird since they numb your mouth. It feels like the dentist is pushing your tooth and you think to yourself "why is he pushing my tooth down?" but he is really pulling and trying to wiggle it out. Don't be scared it doesn't hurt at all. I've had my tooth pulled last year.
