Question:

Does having awful seats ruin the whole game for you?

Or is just being there good enough for you?

Cause personally, for me, having bad seats is kind of a game ruiner. I hate not being able to see, or being at a really weird angle. It just annoys me. I'd almost rather just be at home watching.

How about you?

  1. For me, yes.  I like to sit between the bases and as low as I can.  If I sit too far away, I tend to not pay attention to the game as much. I went to Jacobs Field last year and the only seat I could get was at the foul pole in the very last row of the upper deck.  We could actually see OVER the foul pole.  We sat there for about 10 minutes before we saw some seats behind home but still in the upper deck.  We grabbed them and had a great time.

  2. I was at the Staples Center watching a Lakers game up in the rafter seats... I tell you, they're terrible seats. You barley have any room and you'll always be bumping into other people if you get up if you're bigger like me.

I'd rather be at home watching Kobe score 52 points... I know this is the baseball section, but I've never had any "bad" seats for America's past time.

  3. well its not that bad i mean i would perfer good seats but your a part of the game you cant complain GO SOX!!!

  4. Haha Pregnancy. Yeah, one time my parents got these tickets on sale, so my parents just bought them. They were on the first level, but there was this thing (like a ledge) blocking my whole view of the whole field and the screen with all the players names and stats. It totally ruined the game. Then one time, we bought this all you can eat section on the 3rd level, and my family didn't eat that much, so it was basically a waste of money, and no one was even cheering on th level except my brother and I. (my parents too, but not as loud). Then, I also had to lean over to see the batter, but I could see the outfield well. Those 2 times, the games were totally ruined, but like you said, it's better than being at home =]

    Great Question. Here's a star =]

  5. At Miller Park there are really no bad seats. At the old County Stadium there were though, and it did ruin my mood to have a pole in front of me.

I used to move to behind home plate before last year when the games started selling out. Now I have to get the tickets weeks in advance to get a good seat. Just 2 years ago I'd buy $8.00 seats and move to lower deck right field or behind home plate. Now it's impossible.

  6. Ah.. I know what you mean, my first game was at Angel Stadium I was sitting probably around the same spot as you. I was so high up that I had to lean over to see any of the game. I ended up watching the game on a small tv that was hanging on a wall. I would of rather been at home watching the game. But walking out hearing the crowd screaming while seeing a gigantic field in front of you was way worth the four hour drive from Fresno.

  7. No, at least you're there instead of watching it on TV.

Some people think the bleachers at Yankee Stadium suck, but I love them! best place to catch a home run ball!

  8. Heck no, Once we went to an Astros-Phillies game and we all (It was my whole 2006 Baseball team so about 20 of us) sat at the complete top. Now, I dont know if anyone has been to Citizens Bank Park but sitting at the top has this falling feeling on you since its on an incline but I still enjoyed the game.

  9. I think just being there is okay with me & not everybody can afford the best seats especially for the parents who bring 3 or more kids to a game & wife(not that I am married) but for a family who is on a budget

  10. I was at a game at Safeco Field with some of my mom's side of the family, and we had tix that were almost to the top of the stadium in foul territory in right field. It looked like you were looking straight down and you were gonna fall. It was nice having people around us.

  11. Depends what Stadium(s) you are at. Camden Yards and LSU Stadium have good seats everywhere...

  12. No, if I am at a game I am happy. You are around other fans, you go crazy over hits and home runs, and all of that! I just like the game atmosphere!

  13. No, but sitting next to f***ing retarded people ruins the game.

You know... the 40 yr old half-naked drunk guy jumping and screaming at the top of the 1st inning...

  14. Yes, I agree, if the seats are far enough or high enough that you can't read the players names or numbers on their jersey, I would rather either have standing room only tickets so that I can stand behind home plate in the lower section, or watch the game from home so that I can watch every play.

  15. if your in the bleacher seats in Yankee Stadium in section 39 then you will have the most fun ever according to Yankee Fans

  16. Some seats at Dodger Stadium are pretty bad, so yes they can kill the game.

  17. It depends on what you like. Seats way far up suck, but if you really get into the game, you can enjoy the big screens they have around most stadiums. Take some good friends and just have a good time. And if you feel like you're going to miss something important at the game that you cant see, tape it at home.....gotta love Tivo! hahah

  18. Bart is absolutely correct, there aren't bad seats at AT&T.

  19. I guess it kinda depends on the stadium you're visiting, and the teams you're watching.  I'm an O's fan, and Camden Yards is one of the greatest places you could ever watch a game, there are no bad seats in the stadium.  If you're ever in NY, and you're stuck w/bad tickets, you can just wait until the 3rd or 4th inning; if the Yankees are losing, you'll find LOTS of empty seats down close to the field...trust me o.-

  20. Depends on who I'm with at the game. If I'm solo, feh, I get up and move (usually several times), or I walk around the ballpark for a while.

If I'm with the family, though, mobility is negated. So we just enjoy where we are. Sometimes when we go to the local minor league park, we sit on the outfield berm, and I can enjoy a game from there just fine, or take a brief nap in the summer evening air. I no longer feel compelled to watch every on-field moment; I can pick up the game flow from the crowd's responses.

  21. wow I am spoiled at  AT &T park in San Francisco there are no bad seats just a mediocre team

  22. It's awesome going to gms even w/bad seats. I've had high seats at Bisons (Cleveland's AAA Team), Buffalo Sabres, and Buffalo Bills gms and I liked it

  23. Well if I'm at the dodger stadium, then no. Cause the crowd just so...

  24. hmmm totally totally awfull yes.

but of i'm up high and some where around the center of the court the atmoshere is worth it.

  25. Nothing replaces the feeling of being at a game at Fenway. I don't care if I have terrible seats (as long as I didn't pay alot for them!), it's just the experience for me!

  26. Not really.

A bad seat in the park is better than a good seat at home.

Seats aren't as bad as back in the day . I remember being at Yankee Stadium and having an "obstructed view", meaning that a steel girder would block a significant amount of the field.   And that was to see the team i hated so much.

  27. I go to Dolphin Stadium, some of the worst sight lines for baseball. Dang football stadium.

  28. You could blindfold and hogtie me behind the worst seat in the nosebleed section at a Kansas City Royals game and I would still be in heaven because of the sounds and smells of baseball.  From the perspective of a casual fan though; yeah the Uecker seats are pretty bad. And every pop up looks like a homer.

I've given you two things to say to the person who purchases these crappy seats.

"What's with the nosebleed section?" and "How 'bout these Eucker [Yoo-ker] seats?"  They'll get the picture.

  29. It kinda bugs me because I can't see the strike zone when I'm way up in the upper deck.  But it's ok because from up there you can see the entire field.  The one thing that really used to annoy me is that I couldn't see who was warming up in the bullpen.  But I started to bring binoculars and that solved the problem.  I like being at the field more because I get into the game more.  At home I can't cheer and scream at the top of my lungs when a homerun is hit.

  30. As long as I can see the whole field and can see what's happening, it's better to be at the game for me. The environment is just so much more exciting and I get into the game a lot more. Whenever something crazy happens and the crowd boos/cheers I get so pumped up.
