Does having kids ruin ur life??

ok i m 12 years old and i really want kids so bad preferably girls so i can dress her up in cute outfits take her shopping you know what all us girls wanna do. but i hear that having kids like before 20 ruins your life. yeah it might be bad but that bad? i dont think so. not saying i will. im getting married before i have kids. but if your a teen and already had a baby does it really ruin ur life???

Saying that children ruin your life is like saying losing your leg ruins your life. Yes, it drastically changes your life in ways you never thought possible, but it is what you do with the changes that can ruin your life.  However, I would say it is far better to wait until you are done growing physically and socially (yes, at least 20), and you have someone permanent to share the responisibility with, and even then it is hard.

babies aren't dolls.  sheesh.  will having kids before 20 ruin everyone's life?  no.  will it ruin yours?  Yes.  because you have NO IDEA of what it realistically takes to be a parent.  at all.  and once you realize how hard it is to physically even get a baby into the "cute clothes" you want to put them in, never mind pay for them, and realize how difficult it is to take them shopping, you'll probably feel like your life has been ruined.

Well you are 12 you should be thinking of dances not kids.But the answer to your quesiton is no.It changes it so much.It makes it so hard and yes some people cant handle it.But having kids is great.But I am not saying go get pregnant when you are 16.I am saying everyone is different but you need to realize and be smart about things.If I could go back in time I wish I would have waited.I dont regret my son but I missed out on a lot. You are young enjoy life and then one day be a mommy

No not neccessarily; Im pregnant and im 17. My mom had me at 16, and i know people who got pregnant at 16.

You can still do certain things, but it might be hard to find baby sitters; and child care costs alot. Yeah im having a girl so i understand how you want to dress her up and all. But maybe you should wait until at least 18. Dont listen to the lectures on here...too many smart mouthed people.

It can affect you're education wich can keep you out of college and a highschool deploma doesn't give you many options on the job market now days. So if you don't have a good education chances are you wont get a good job. You'll end up broke and depressed.

Actually it did the complete oppisite for me. I am not telling you that having a kid as a teen is the right choice- because it is not. It is very hard to raise a child and work, finish school, finaincially support the baby and yourself... there is much more behind having kids then the joys of dressing them. In my situation though having my daughter in a sense gave me my life back. I was in a really hard time and when i had her it gave me a reason to continue down the right path.

i don't think it would necessarily ruin your life. But it would make things a lot harder. I had my baby girl at 21. And im still attending school, so it makes it harder for me. I love her to death and wouldn't give her up for the world. I also have been with my fiancee for 6 years. You know it is fun to dress her up cute....but its also a lot of work...and remember...you have to have a good career in order to buy those clothes and make sure she gets everything she needs. So it is best to wait until your in your 20's and have a good job. Or a husband with a good job to support you. I love every minute i have with my little girl........but i wish i had finished school first because its hard juggling a part time job with school, with my daughter.

Also, some of my friends are going out now that they are 21 and 22.....most of the time......i don't go. So live it up a little before you start your family. :)))))

i am 16 and i have a son.  Honestly, he is the most amazing thing i could ever ask for.  OI have seen some parents who completely ignore the fact that they have another life to take care of, and they act in a way that is way below their maturity level, especially since they have  a son/daughter.   I think it all depends on how the person who is a parent responds to responsibility.

But no, i would never say that the birth of my son ruined my life. I am young, i am still in school, i work, and father a child; sure it is possibly the hardest thing i will ever do; but i would never change it for anything

to everyone else  She is not asking  because she wants kids, shes asking out of curiosity. and honestly, just because you are young does not take away from how good of a parent you can be.  I see myself and my wife as great parents, and yea, its hard. But just because you are a young parent does not make you a horrible one.

it is recommended that you get kids after you have a steady career and marriage. if you get married as a teen..the kids do not ruin your life..instead, you would ruin theirs as you do not have the ability to raise them properly. having kids need a lot of preparation. :) and the down side of having them when one is this young is..you'll miss out of a lot of fun things in life, enjoy your childhood while you can.

just think about this....how long do you enjoy playing "dress up" for.  Or doing any ONE thing for?   This is 24 hours a day, not an hour here and there, when you want, its when baby would want it...

I can't say having a baby would ruin a teens LIFE...but its sure going to put a large damper on it for the present and especially the future.

Having kids before you are 30 is a mistake.

Take it from someone a bit older and wiser.  I have the benefit of hindsight.  It's 20/20.

You are way too young to handle the responsibility of a child!  I'm 37 yrs old and I cannot believe how much WORK a baby is.  Are you ready to be up all night around the clock and get 2 hours of sleep in 15 minute increments?  Are you ready to change diapers and feed the baby and take him to the doctor at 3 in the morning because he's throwing up all over the place?  Can you afford to buy the baby diapers, clothes, food, toys, etc?  My son's daycare costs $650 a month just so I can go to work.  There are many more reasons NOT to have a child at your age than you could possibly rationalize.  You will NOT be able to go out and do all the fun stuff with your friends that you THINK you will.  I'm a grown up and I can't even get to do what I want.  PLEASE DON'T DO IT!  having a baby WILL ruin your life at the age of 12 or even as a teenager.  Wait until you're grown and have a job and a husband and you can do it properly.  Children aren't dolls to be used to play dress up.  They are a lot of work and responsibility.  

Talk to your PARENTS about this.  Don't post to strangers!

Babies are the best thing that can happen in your life - They change it forever though.  If you really want children so that you can dress them up in cute outfits, i suggest you get a doll, because babies don't like cutsie clothes.  Babies think they are not comfortable, they scream and cry to tell you they want them off,  and will only p**p and vomit all over the cute little outfits
