Does having my wisdom teeth give me some sort of special advantage?

they make you wiser?

seriously, if they are not causing you pain, you should keep them (they could come in handy later on if you get a tooth pulled out or something!)

but if they are causing you pain or keep getting infected, you might want to get the out.

The reasons for getting them removed far out wight the benefit.

1.  having to brush and floss 4 less teeth.

2.  food impaction way in the back can cause infection or cavities

3.  cheek biting etc.

4.  lack of function due to iimpaction.

The only benefit or potential benefit is, a family history of chronic grinding or clenching (bruxing).  The added surface area can dissipate a bit of the load during activity. Again you would have to have room for them AND the would have to be in function.
