Does hd look the same on all t.v.'s?

i have a 60 inch big screen that is about 5 years old and i am about to get HD cable on it. would it look the same as a plasma that has HD or would it look different?

hd is so much better you can see grease on peoples face with hd xbox is so awsome to definetly get hd trust me

5 years? I doubt it is a HD set from that era, but it could be, that was about the first years.

Check if it is HD. Get the model number and check on the manufacturers web site.

But even if it is HD, and I doubt it, it is probably a very early model with 720 lines at the most, and new sets will look a lot better.

The test will be when you try to plug in the component video cable from the cable box into your TV. If there is no place to plug it in, you cannot view HD TV on that TV.
