So recently my brother took a test that proved that he had gastritis, the doctor told him to take a blood test. He did, but now that I see the report I dont understand anything.

It says something like

Test Name --------------------------Result--------...

Hepatitis B Surface Ab, QL - Reactive - ABN - Non Reactive

and then below its says something like

HB s Ag W/reflex cof

HB S Ag

Hepatitis C Ab -----------------------Non Reactive----------------Non Reactive

Signal to cut off

Helicobacter Pylori Ab (IgG)

H. Pylori IgG Antibody-------------------------Negativ...

Reference Range: Negative

What does any of this mean, does he have hepatitis or not, man they make it so complicated to understand. Anyone care to explain what does this mean?

  1. no, he does not have hepatitis. non-reactive means the blood sample did not react to the chemicals in the test, so there is no sign of hepatitis.  the surface anti- bodies could result from a vaccination or other exp osier, but that just means he was exposed to the virus at some point and is not infected now. good 4 him and u:)
