My son is very upset, his bio-father cut his hair against his will now for the 2nd time - the first time I didn't say anthing about it. Now my son is starting school next week and he is upset, I have to try and "modify" his hair now so he feels confident. I have full legal and physical custody - does he have the right to do that?

  1. no he does not. you are the legal and physical guardian. assure your son the hair will grow back, and that you will not allow his father to have it cut agai. if he tries, have your son call you immed. and tell the salon/barber that you will sue.

and michelle, get over yourself. my son has almost shoulder lenght hair and still "looks like a boy" and keeps it clean and combed. children should be allowed self expression, and hair is such a minor thing.

  2. Are you one of those people who let your son have long hair like a girl?

If you are, then I would say not only does his father have a right, but it's also his duty as a GOOD parent to allow his son to actually look like a BOY so he can grow up and live a normal life.

  3. I suspect the answer is no, as your son's father is not his legal guardian.
