He may not have been mad - he may have just been embarassed and frustrated at himself for being too shy too respond warmly. If I were you I would give him a few days space, but make sure you smile warmly at him in the mean time. If he doesn't come up to you, then just start being friendly towards him for the few days after that. This will put him at his ease and give him the opportunity to respond without pressure. Then if he still isn't reciprocating, you need to ask him 'do you like me? because you seemed angry when I told you I liked you'. This will be a gentle way to show him how he appeared and clear up any confusion.

P.s. if he asked you out then he definitely likes you. The fact that he 'got sick' means he is really nervous. You should be friendly with him and hopefully he will get more confidence when he starts feeling more comfortable around you. Be patient with him and give him time - guy's get nervous too.

No,  Sorry but why would he get mad?  It makes no sence.  Once this guy that was two grades below me liked me at this one camp and got all creppy and treid to get me thigs I ingnord him after that cause he made me fell gross!  Mabey he fells gross and uncomfatable. sorry again!

mh, seems to me, if he's angry, there's a possiblity he doesn't feel the same way, if i was you, i'd ask him why he is angry with you and see what happens from there :]
