Question:

Does he sound nervous or self-centered?

I hung out with this guy from work today, and he's super nice. The thing is that I'm a pretty quiet person. He basically talked the whole entire time, but it wasn't like he's just talkative, it was more like he was just rambling a lot. I'd say something, but then he'd just end up rambling again about something else. I think he likes me, so do you think it was just his nerves? Or does he seem more full of himself? Later he told me he was nervous about it, but do you think that's much of an excuse as to why I couldn't get much of a word in???

  1. Well first off if your really shy, and he was nervous I can see how it would come across as he was just babbling.. Don't shoot him down just yet that wouldn't be cool to do you know.. w ho knows he might be a really nice person, that you just have to learn to get use to talking with.. and maybe it will help you from being so shy get you out of that shell even for a moment or so.. best of luck

  2. uh, u just said ur shy. of course u didn't get much of a word in! its fine though, its not like he kept rambling about himself...is it?? then he'd be self centered!

  3. Some people feel uncomfortable if there's lull in a conversation and will chatter on in order to fill the void.  Try telling him he's not responsible for carrying the conversation and that if there's a lull, it's really OK.  Once put at ease, if it's nerves, he'll slow down.  ,
