Does heating your eyelash curler make a difference?

There is a makeup tip that says you should heat your eyelash curler for 5-10 seconds before using it. Does it really help? I've never heated it before use... so I'd like to know if it actually does anything before I risk burning my eyes lol.

Yes, it does.

It's sort of like straightening or curling your hair with a straightener or curling iron. The curler will curl the lashes, and the heat is going to help lock it in.

There are actual heated eyelash curlers that heat themselves on the market, but if you already have one (typically the metal ones), just heat it up with a blowdryer, only for a few seconds, I would recommend actually 3-5 just so it doesn't get too hot and burn you.

yes ! when you heat your eyelash curler and then curl your lashes, its keeps a better shape. its like straightening your hair, if there's no heat, it wont do anything. when you heat your eyelash curler, you're actually keeping in the curl on your eyelash. when you do not heat it, you just press and hold the "fold". before you but the curler on your eyelashes, test the heat on the back of your hand, make sure its not too hot. trust me. its no fun. haha

yes it does because it helps form your eyelashes better. its like curling your hair basically. there are also heated eyelash curlers that look more like a stick and the end warms up so you can curl your eyelashes. i have this one from sephora and i love it: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh... it really helps your eyelashes stay curled, its like if you were to use a curling iron on your hair (the heated eyelash curler) then apply hairspray (mascara)

Yes! Just be careful not to let it heat too much. Run a lighter over it for 2 seconds literally or it will be too hot. Doing this you don't even have to apply mascara bc it looks nice without, natural with a curl.
