  1. What hinduism says Hindus dont REALLY follow it. So it has different aspects Though Hinduism believes in equality Hindus are far from considering all humans equal. Though now times are changing and people are changing their beliefs in India.

Hindus are further segmented into other communities having seperate thoughts. So the decisions were* made in those communities.

In villages they had Kings or who would appoint Gurus (Pandit) or priest who would help the king to make decisions

If you talk about a hindu family ? the decision makers are the eldest members of the family grandfathers espcially...whatever they say was used to be followed BUT only in past.

With the change in time and mixing up of cultures all this have become a past and this is stll practiced but either not so strictly or in remote villages where the western influence have not HIT

Hindu religion is a way of living and its not really a community

So one is free for his own thoughts its a vast resource of information available for medical, spiritual, astrological, psychological, mythological knowledge

I know my answer is not to the point what you are looking for... but its difficult to find an answer for your question .. so i thought i would put it in this way.

    Hope this helps
