  1. Like a face needs a nose! NO!

  2. offsides is a good rule

  3. yes they do because if they didn't have an offsides rule a player could stand in front of the goalies net get a pass and be alone for about five seconds and have an easier oppurtunity to score so they need it.

  4. Hi

Not long ago they did change it to tag up style. I think if they got rid of it completely it would slow the game down even more. Think how much trouble some teams have getting out of there own zone now imagine if the other team could apply non stop pressure. I think there would be a lot more icing calls and there for slow it down. It is fine how it is.

    Thank You

  5. offsides is to help the goalie . there are all ready comtrolling goalies . also if we keep changing the rules , it wouldnt be hockey anymore  it would somthing else. leave offsides as is. thank you

  6. No

that would only increase cherry picking

you may as well just get rid of the goalies

  7. It would quick up the game, but it would create a drastic change that shouldn't be made. I'm all for making the game better, but make subtle changes similar to the two-line pass. That is a rule in European hockey, just adapted for the NHL to speed up the game...and it has worked.

  8. Getting rid of goaltenders would make it a faster more high scoring game too.

    What a horrible idea.

  9. Absolutely not. On the contrary, the opposite would happen. What would happen without it is that players would stop skating, waiting around near the nets, and the game would slow down. Offsides forces the players to keep moving. That is why it was implemented in the first place.

  10. Absolutely it does.  Without offsides, the league would just be one long shootout.  It would have so much cherry-picking and as someone else said, it would just be a huge free-for-all.

  11. Bettman? Is that you? Indoor lacrosse doesn't have the offside rule, but I don't see it being very effective in hockey.

  12. The blue lines keep the flow of the game correct. They allow everyone to reset, to perform a breakout and to allow defencemen to join the offensive rush. Without the blues you will have dirtbags cherry picking constantly to nail a breakaway. Quicker skaters must use their reaction time, moves and hockey sense to get through the neutral zone. Removing the red line was a wonderful improvement, but taking away the blue line would be like taking away the line of scrimmage in football, complete and udder chaos

  13. I would eliminate one more type of stoppage. But the game would become an ugly free-for-all.
