I fell in my own home. I ended up breaaking my jaw and alot of my teeth. My homeowners insurance says anyone injured on my property will be covered. They are refusing to pay for my medical bills from the accident. They're foreclosing very soon on my house, and I think they are stalling me, so they dont have to pay.

Well, does my insurance cover me? I have all the neccesary paperwork needed. Im in Kansas. I dont have any personal insurance on myself. Wont my homeowners cover my bills?

Please help ASAP!!!

  1. That's not what your homeowners says.  Medical payments is a no-fault coverage for people who are NOT the named insured, and DON'T live in the house.

You can't collect under your own homeowners policy, because you can't sue yourself.  You need to collect under your HEALTH insurance policy.

Pull out your policy, and read it.  The NAME of the coverage you want to collect under, is "medical payments TO OTHERS".

  2. Sorry, but your HO policy is not going to pay for your medical bills. That is what health insurance is for.

  3. No it won't pay. If you read your policy, it will say you have "Medical Payments To Others" coverage. This obvioulsy doesn't include you. It doesn't include any named insured or resident of the household. That's what you have health insurance for. I'm sorry to tell you, but if you don't have any health insurance, it looks like these are going to be paid out-of-pocket.
