  1. It will help you get in shape and build some muscle it is very good exercise and relaxing too. it will benifit her to at least try to get on again

  2. no  but its good for women

  3. Contrary to what non-riders often say (e.g., horseback riding isn't exercise - the horse does all the work), horseback riding most definitely is exercise.  I also have problems with my weight and find riding to be very useful for two reasons.  First, it is exercise itself.  But, secondly, it provides me with a motivation to lose weight and be fit.  I definitely ride better when I'm thinner and am in good shape from eating right, riding and doing other types of exercise.  As an adult who rode as a child, took ten years off, and came back to riding as an adult, I know that I appreciate what riding contributes to my life much more now than I did as a child. I think you're going to make your mother very happy!

  4. well riding is exercise and you will tone and build muscle and especially use muscles in places you didn't know you had them like in your back...  You can certainly lose weight when riding... especially at the beginning when you're using all the muscles for the first time... but you have to watch what you eat too...  so it's up to her if she loses weight... it's certainly possible to drop a few pounds, but probably not a noticable amount unless she puts in the little extra effort of eating well.  If she does eat well, I can see her dropping 10-15 pounds in the first few weeks of riding.
