  1. no it doesn't I only gained about 17 pounds or so at the most during my pregnancy and I was very small.  Last week I had an 8lb 5oz baby girl.  I was all baby.  Only thing that you may not be left with is a belly.

  2. i gained 60 my baby was 8 12

my friend gained about the same her baby was 6

  3. NO. I have watched TLC and the Discovery Chanel and have seen some odd things. Women that have gained hardly any weight have 6-8lb babies and women that have gained 40lbs have 6lb babies.

  4. No you can gain 50 pounds and only have a 6 pound baby

  5. I gained 25lbs after being on four months of bed rest.  My baby was born at 3lbs 9oz.  The old saying is not true that if you are heavy, your baby will be also.  I've seen small moms and big babies, and vice versa.  I'm sure lots of old folk will be telling you the opposite though, watch out for them.

  6. I don't think so. I gained a whopping 30 pounds and had a 6 pound baby. Amazingly I've lost all baby weight in just a few months. It may be due to my breastfeedings.

  7. I don't think so.  I only gained 17 pounds and my daughter ended up being a 9 lb. 6oz. ball of cuteness!

  8. Nope.

  9. no.  My sister gained alot of weight b/c she ate alot of taco bell and mcdonalds during her pregnancy.  She ate alot of junk food. Her baby was only 6 pounds.  I also think that the bigger the baby is, the more you will weigh of course but they say its good to gain between 25-35 pounds minimum.  i just had a baby.  After the summer i weighed 125 pounds and was in great shape due to lots of exercise especially spinning and cycling outside.  Then i gained about a pound or two in the fall due to the cool weather.  I got pregnant near halloween and when i found out i was pregnant (13 weeks later), i was 129 pounds.  Just before i had my baby i weighed 160 pounds. I gained four pounds in one week near the end.  I was a bit upset about it.  In total i gained about 35 pounds or a little more.  My baby was 7 pounds and 7 ounces.  Regardless, you will gain weight no matter what due to the placenta, increased blood volume, increased breast mass, baby wieght, and also increased fat storages (for production of breast milk after the birth).  However, you can eat healthy.  I chose to eat whatever i wanted b/c i could get away with it!! (lol).  Now that i had the ababy, i have to get used of watching what i eat again ( darn).  Enjoy your pregnancy while it lasts and eat foods you enjoy.  Take it easy on the fast food stuff though.

Bye for now and good luck. Congradulations

  10. Not always, but if you have justational diabetes it can. If you are having a normal pregnancy then maybe not.

  11. I don't  think it has much effect.  I gained only the absolute minimun of weight during my pregnancy due my 9 months of morning sickness to be considered healthy.  I was 5'4 108 pregnancy and delivered at 38 weeks and I weighed 128 pounds.  Even though I didn't gain much weight my baby was a healthy 6 pounds 11 oz.

  12. We'll the healthy weight gain is from 25 to 35 pounds... Whether it gets to the baby or not, that depends on the baby... The advice I can give is: stay off candy, eat a lot of veggies and exercise (consult your ob-gyn first).

I gave birth 4 months ago to a baby boy... I gained 39 pounds, but the weight of my baby was only 6 pounds and 11 oz... It all depends on the baby himself... But, for women who develop diabetes during pregnancy, their babies tend to be bigger...

  13. no it does not...sometimes if themother gains too much or has diabetes in pregnacny the baby could be too large, but i am tiny only went up to 135 pounds w/ both my kids andthey were both 8 pounds vaginal births...i know ppl that gained tons and had smaller babies and couldnt even push them out...

  14. It can, but it's not an absolute.  A woman who gets huge eating poor quality food or who doesn't eat enough protein may have a small baby.

A woman who gains a lot of weight on a reasonably healthy diet will likely have a big baby too.  Don't say it can't be done, because I'm there, my friend!
