Question:

Does humidity level in the air affect dry eye after Lasik?

It's been almost 6 months since my Lasik surgery, and my eyes are still dry. Not dry like in the first month, but just slighty blurry vision from being dry. The blurry vision goes away when I put drops in, but then comes back after a while when my eyes get dry.

I'm not living in the desert in Arizona, and I was just wondering if my dry eye would be resolved if I lived in someplace with a higher humidity??

Thanks,

Robin

  1. Maybe is beocs of the environment liek air con area. The dryness will be there. As well as morning and nite time. Use Refresh Plus eye drops.

  2. I've noticed changes in eye dryness.  I live in Portland Oregon and yes they are dry.  But I recently went to Hawaii and they were horrible.

I had LASIK 1.5 years ago and they are still dry.  I hate it and wish I never got the surgery.  It has seriously impaired my life.

  3. More than likely, it's a condition you'll have to live with no matter where you live. Dry eyes after LASIK is very common. Make sure you're drinking enough water and keep using your moisturizing drops. You should talk to your ophthalmologist about possibly getting a prescription for Restasis or having punctal plugs put in.
