Does hydrolized silk mean it comes from silkworms?

  1. Silk is hard to make artificially -- it pretty much always comes from silkworms (or another insect that is a close relative). If you can't get silkworms you can make rayon, polyester, or nylon, but these don't have the same feel as silk.

    "Hydrolized" just means that the protein chains got split up.
