Question:

Does hypothyroidism cause bladder problems??

I have just been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid, and have most of the classic symptoms, such as weight gain, tiredness, dry skin, and hair, brittle nails, forgetfullness, and confusion. However, I have another recent complaint, which is a VERY weak bladder, and lots of minor bladder infections. I forgot to mention this to my doctor and am wondering if this is also a symptom of an underactive thyroid???

  1. An under-active thyroid can cause different problems for different people. Besides what you stated weak bladder is one of them but it could also be caused by a weak cervix or muscle in the stomach pushing down on the bladder. Check with your doctor to be sure. He/she can give you something to help with the problem.

  2. I also have underactive thyroid but never heard of this symptom in connection with it.

drink some cranberry juice every day may help with bladder infections(UTI). Try link below.

Cool thanks for responding and go to the docs and get checked up you might be type 2 diabetic and this may well be whats causing the "weak bladder" and also the infections
