Does iWork 08 support .doc, .ppt and .xls?

I am thinking of getting a mac and I need to know what software to get. I don't want Microsoft office 08 for mac because i revere Microsoft but I want iWork 08 and because all of my work is in .doc, .ppt and .xls format i need to know if iWork supports .doc's, .ppt's and .xls's otherwise i will use openoffice

  1. Use OpenOffice. It mimics ms office beautifully.

    And...it is free.
