  1. Iceland and Norway have a relatively mild weather considering their latitudes. That is because the gulfstream brings warm water all the way from the Mexican Gulf.

Even at latitude 72 north, the north of Norway on the coast is ice free and it rains, even sometimes in the winter.

But once you move inland - both in Iceland and Norway, the picture is different and snow may remain as glaciers year around.

  2. Yes, it rains a lot in Iceland and in winter it often snows quite a bit too.

You can find endless weather details and records on this website:

  3. lots of snow and rain. They have glaciers.

  4. The southern coast of Iceland and the Reykjanes peninsula usually don't see as much snow as the rest of the island because the Gulf Stream warms it up.  For the past couple of years we've seen more rain than snow in the winter and when it does snow, the rain comes in a day or two to turn it to sludge or wash it all away.  The further inland and north you go in the island the more snow you'll see.
