Does imitation crab meat have any real meat in it at all?

im a vegetarian, and im curious to know if i can eat it or not.

an artificial japanese fish meat called surimi. it is processed and contains oil. don't eat imitation crab! if you really crave crab, at least have the real thing, which is closer to nature.

very small amount t give it the crab like taste but certain companies dont include crab meat but may use an oil or something from a crab to make it taste like crab but no imitation crab meat is 100% imitation

Yep, it's usually another type of fish.  As someone else pointed out, pollock is commonly used.

Usually Imitation has real meat, but not Crab meat.  Usually its flounder or some type of fish.  

The real question is why are you a vegetarian....  God made meat for us to eat.

Imitation crab meat is made from surimi, which is a white fish flesh. Pollock is the most common fish used to make surimi, which is used to make imitation crab meat.

And just ignore the "Why are you a vegetarian" comment. Some people just can't mind their own business about another person's life choices.
