Does insurance pay eye contact fitting?

I have a doc appt 2moro..I know the insurance won't buy me the contacts but will it pay for the whole doctor giving you the sample ones to try on and him teaching you how to use and stuff. Basically do I have to pay for the sample ones ?

If your insurance company won't pay for contacts, then they won't pay for the Contact Lens Fitting/Evaluation (which is an extension of your regular eye exam).  That portion of the exam will have to be paid "out of pocket".  A trial pair of contacts should be included in the CL fitting/eval.  Some offices charge another fee for having to train new contact lens wearers, while others do not.

depends....if you are using a medical insurance, no. if you have an eye vision insurance plan they may pay for the contact lens fit/evaluation. trials are almost always given during the evaluation for no additional fee.

Samples are that samples. You never pay for samples or for them showing you how to use them. Just think of it as courtesy. Insurance usually just pays for the eye exam. Good luck! :)

Nope, the samples are trials, but you may have to pay for a box of contacts to order.

Most insurances will pay for regular eye/eyeglasses exam and not contact lens fitting. Usually if you pay the contacts fitting/exam, the doctor will give you a free trial pair to wear and show you how to wear, clean, and handle them properly.

Even some insurances don't cover the handle eyeglass exam, so be sure to ask the receptionist before you proceed through the examination and get a surprise bill!
