  1. I don't know about the trains, but if your going to import a vehicle to greece it is better to check with the telonia, and the regulations in greece. My family moved our stuff from the u.s. like that and we had to use a 20 ft long container, depending what size it is , what you are going to be putting in it and it may cost you a few thousand dollars. Ours costed four thousand dollars! But make sure you check with the Greek Embasy in your area, they have more detailed infor. Good luck! Just do not get caught in a time where oi limenarxes exoun apergia. Strikes caused our container to delay four months to arrive in pireaus, otherwise you should  not have a problem!

  2. Zoe, some OSE trains have the ability to purchase a space on the Intercity for a fee (of course). It depends on destination and the train, and you need to look at the OSE schedule and look for a car icon to see which ones they are. The way you do that is go to the station and take a look at the most recent schedules, then book in advance to make sure you get a spot. You could also call someone on the phone, but I've heard from many people in Thessaloniki that they don't answer or are sometimes rude.

OSE publishes schedules annually around May, but they change them very often, so it's not reliable to look at schedules online. In fact, the Kathimerini newspaper reported that OSE is doing a major overhaul (namely cutting back) some trains just last week.

I hope that helped, and have a nice trip.
