  1. I think if there is somewhere else for me to lay and no where else for them to play....then yea, I would move.

  2. This is the world we live in most people are inconsiderate. Maybe they are just wanting to be near you to look at you.

I mean what other explanation is there?

LOL they should just go to an area where there is less people around. Or you need to go to an area where there are way too many people cluttered up, to even make room for those people, to play in. Only solutions I see besides not going to the beach at all and that's not happening I imagine.

  3. Yes, it's actually very disrespectful. I can't believe all these people writing it's no big deal. The problem is our society values community and sports so much they don't care who they bother. Whether it's neighbors playing ball out in the street, blaring their music, or people in parks and beaches. Last night I was at a restaurant and seated outside. It was a huge outdoor seating and these women picked to sit at the table directly next to us. Not that it was rude or terrible, but people seem to have no awareness of other people anymore. They'll just come into your space and expect you to move. I had someone do that to me in line at a cafe recently. She asked if I was in line, and was trying to get me to move up more. I didn't move. I'd say if there is a life gaurd, tell him you were sitting there and these people came over and played right where you are and are hitting you in the head with the ball. He'll make them move probably. Otherwise you have no choice but to move, but when you do make it known that you're ticked!

  4. this is something some friends and i did a couple years back

it was done as a practical joke (and as a experiment for a class paper)  but lol it worked

#1 get about  professional looking signs made up and put on wooden stakes. and get some do not cross ribbons

(hand made signs wont work for this)

#2 chose your favorite hours (at most two hours)

the signs should read  the north* end of the beach is reserved  daily for swimmers and  sunbathers only  between the hours of --- and ---

#3 mark off a small corner of the beach with your signs and

with the ribbon tacked between the signs

#4  if any lifeguard / beach patrol  ask you .. let them know you are doing a summer long project  a  study of human behavior.  and that you will pick up your signs etc. each day when you leave.  and they in most cases will let you keep your signs up.

*depends on wave direction north end or south end

if the waves carry swimmers-surfers south than you want to mark off the north end  for sunbathing.

  5. its the beach my dear girl, that is part of the beach.

  6. YES.

I also hate people getting sand on my towel. If I wanted to sit on the sand, I wouldn't bother with a towel.

  7. Some people are really rude and don't think of others. The best thing to do is to ask them to play somewhere else. People will only be mean to you if you let them.

  8. People are inconsiderate but maybe you were sitting in an area where they always play the sports.

  9. While I totally agree that if you were there first, you should NOT have to move or put up with it, maybe the simplest  thing for you to do is find a more out-of-the-way spot to begin with.  If you start off on the edge of the beach, then maybe the RUDE sporty types will find adequate room in the middle of the beach and you can tan in peace.

  10. it makes me nervous too...when im trying to relax and people are all up in my face throwing stuff...try to sit near old people, they will tell them off and you wont have to LOL

  11. You should be allowed 20 feet between yourself and whoever decided to play near you.  Any closer, and I think that's invasion of your space.  If you were there first, it's your area.  And if the beach is so crowded they can't find a spot far enough away to play, they should move closer to the water.

  12. no?...

  13. well i think its proper etiquette for YOU to move out of the way. You can always move somewhere else, its not the end of the world

  14. i know i really hate when that happens y do they play so close

  15. Some people are just rude like that. They figure, it's the beach so I can play where ever I want. It's unfair and rude but some people are just that way. It's not any better when you are relaxing in the sun and someone allows their dog to run up to you or their kid to kick sand on you. Some people go out and leave their manners at home.

  16. i know i really hate when that happens.....

  17. I think you need to find a desert beach, or go at some time nobody else is there. It's a public area, people can play.
