  1. Yes,,,,, it ,/.,./, does,/./,;'[,./;'[

  2. No it doesn't.

Punctuation takes the place of pauses and inflections that we use in conversation, thereby making the printed word closer to the spoken word. That is the difference between typing and writing

  3. No :)

I really like all the different styles you get out here.

  4. Not usually.

  5. No. What does annoy me is people who waste their time in education and can't even master the basics of English grammar, spelling and syntax.

  6. No it doesn't bother me. Punctuation can be good.

  7. Are you Paranoid about this ,,,,,,,

  8. To.o, m-uc!h i_s bette+r+ th?an n#one at al~l.

  9. not-at:all"?/!.!/?

  10. Not at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  11. There's no such thing as too much punctuation. A sentence is either correctly punctuated, or it isn't.  Your punctuation needs a little work.

  12. not in the least................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  13. Do you mean when we get the state of Montana over here ?

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - >

No, I get it all the time ! ! !

  14. Only if, as in your question, it is used erroneously (I take it you were being ironic).  Many of the contributors to Y/A seem barely literate, often to the point where it is impossible to understand what they are trying to say.  Over- and under-punctuation are yet more examples of the very poor state of written English; I wonder how these people communicate in speech?

The answer to your question, therefore, is yes.

  15. What you talking about!?!?! There is no such thing as too much punctuation!!!! I would never get annoyed!!! I cannot live; without punctuation, that is!!!

  16. Not if they use it correctly. I would rather someone over use puncuation than someone who uses none at all.

  17. No but the yellow box next to me annoys me...hmmm it looks like you have a lot of punctuation. Sigh

  18. No but it does annoy me when yahoo answers suddenly say oops it looks like you used too much punctuation especially since at the age of 15 when I took my o levels right through a levels and university i was accused of being comma phobic in my view punctuation helps people to understand what you have written and it also tells you when to take a breath if you are reading a text aloud we could of course start to write like the ancient romans who didnt use spaces and ran all the letters together Ioncereceivedanemailfroma

    friendwhosgerman

    wasntverygoodandshehadntused

    thespacebarwhenIcomplainedshe

    saidthatthespacebaronthe

    computershewas

    usingwasdodgysoshe

    decidedtoignoreit.

Now, how much sense did that make?

Just think of the money which could be saved if we omitted the spaces. Theoretically a translator or journalist paid per word would only be justified in invoicing for one word, even if the text was 300 pages.

  19. No, not if it makes the question/answer clearer (and easier to understand).

i prefer too much punctuation to sentences which run on and on with no punctuation in them at all and are much more difficult to understand unless you know the exact mind process of the person writing them because how else would you be able to understand a random stream of consciousness with no apparent breaks or pauses to show how the person was actually trying to voice the question or answer

  20. Yes. As well as seeing the silly use of it just to be 'amusing', it's sometimes the only way on this site that you can emphasise something - but I CAN do without those annoying windows which pop up courtesy of Yahoo telling me that - for instance "Oops! It looks like you have 1 misspelling(s)" when I know I haven't, and even worse when it says "Hmm... it looks like you have a lot of punctuation" WHICH IN ITSELF is a misspelling ! ! !

(and of course has just caused it to pop-up again with it - but at least it blocks the one telling me I've used too much punctuation !)

  21. No!!! Why would it???? Does it bother you???? Wait, what was the question????? Nevermind!!!! Just kidding!!!! LOL!!!!!!

  22. Only if they don't know how to use it properly.

  23. No.

But you can get a better idea of the person behind the question.

Also... your punctuation is wrong.  Totally.

  24. yeah i m really annoyed by ur question!
