Question:

Does it bother you if other fans dislike your favorite driver?

My favorite driver is Terry Labonte, and I've never cared if anyone else liked him or not.

I'm not hating or bashing, just trying to understand. If it does bother you, I'd like to know why.

  1. I could care less if i was the only person in the world who likes Jimmie Johnson. GO 48!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I hate to hear people bash him but I don' take it personally. He got a lot of grief for wrecking Stewart twice earlier this year but people generally got over it.

  3. Yes but only when people start ranting about how much he sucks or if they say he is g*y

    HE IS NOT g*y!

  4. Great question !!!! But no I am immune to it after 15 years !!!!! It used to though !!!!! Texas Terry is awesome !

  5. Yes, it pisses me off when people say they hate Mark Martin.

    s***w them.

    P.S. Texas Terry rocks.

  6. I'm so used to it now that it doesn't really matter anymore! The thing I don't like is the bashing and haters, it's okay to not like another driver that's fine I have a few I don't like too but all the hating gets a little crazy sometimes!

  7. I think a lot of people are neutral with my driver this year, David Ragan.

But it used to annoy me when people would call him things.

I was really annoyed when people cheered at Atlanta when Carl blew up(or whatever happened) But now I don't think I would care.

  8. Well things have calmed down a bit Gordon wise... the trolls don't seem to be doing as much anymore thank goodness. Earlier this summer the anti-Gordon troll(s) were really going at it.

I'm used to the fan dislike. It's no big deal, really.

  9. no, it doesn't bother me because I know Jeff Gordon is truely great.

  10. Not anymore.  I try to let the remarks made about Dale Jr. just go in one ear and out the other. I have been and always will be a loyal fan to him. I am not a band wagoner, I stick with my driver through the good and the bad times. I don't jump ship just because he isn't "winning".  I do, however, get tired of Jr. Nation being bashed almost constantly on YA, it's getting old.

    Good question :D

  11. i wish more people would dislike my driver sometimes - especially amongst those who like him now who end up making the rest of us look bad. as the old joke goes, "90% of all politicians give the other 10% a bad name." same principle applies, although the ratio may be a little different.

    ;-)

bottom line, the more fans of other drivers who dislike my driver the better. he feeds on it, and i do too in a vicarious sorta way. it does bug me when they get their facts, their opinions, their rumors, and their conspiracy theories all balled into one. but i can usually let that slide like water off the aflac duck's back - as long as it doesn't slide off that duck onto the track IN FRONT OF my driver.

    ;-)

  12. Jeremy is a classy guy. There are a few people that dislike him, but most people just don't care one way or the other about him. :(

People like who they like I don't care, as long as they don't bash my driver(s) or try to shove their's in my face.

Brian the only thing that really pisses me off is when people hate him just because of Talladegga 2 years ago it was an ACCIDENT!!!

Now if you bad mouth or bash Jeremy or Brian (especially Jeremy) i will go off.

  13. no it doesn't bother me. it reassures that i am not just a fair weather fan. I'm dedicated all the way through the good and bad. terry labonte is great guy. stick to it...I'm a michael waltrip fan and dont care what anyone says. wear it loud and proud race fan

  14. Not one bit. It's hilarious to see some of the immature things that are said on here. None of the drivers would be in NASCAR if they hadn't earned it-except for Paul Menard.

I've always admired both Texas Terry and Bobby LaBonte. They have been class acts for NASCAR.

  15. No.  I just dislike non factual information portrayed about certain drivers.   The third grade mentality stuff.

    Examples:

Juan Pablo wrecks everyone every week.

Kyle BUsch is a danger and always wrecks people.

    Jeff Gordon is g*y.

    Dale Jr is a failure.

Theresa Earnhardt is the anti christ

Eury Jr is a lousy Crew Chief

    HMS won by cheating.

Toyotas are enabling Kyle to win.

Kyle wrecked a lot of equipment at HMS.

    Casey Mears......   lol

I always liked Terry as well Lynn.  Just so you know.

    Stupid stuff like that.

  16. Not really because there are drivers out there that I really don't like, so I don't expect everyone to like my favorite driver(s).

Everyone has a right to their own opinion. Besides, how fun would it really be if we all liked the same driver?

  17. my favorite is dale jr, i hate jeff gordon, i don't put down other fans when they tell me who they like and most nascar fans are that way. we all like a driver and hate another, we may joke about a driver and his fans but it is all in good hearted fun. i can't hate a person because the don't like my driver, i love my wife but she roots for that toyota owner driver waltrip, thoose cheating toyota's should not be allowed on the track

  18. Not really, because there's always going to be people who'll bash him for the sake of bashing and others who don't have a clue what they're talking about.

  19. No, cause a lot do but it bugs me even more that too many people like my driver, so it's as if I'm on a bandwagon (ha!!).

  20. To each his own. There are a lot of drivers in Nascar. I like several of them & I have my favorites. Whenever you go to a race you see all kinds of fans for different drivers. That's what it's all about. It's the hating & bashing that I don't care for.

  21. No it doesn't bother me at all. Nascar drivers are colorful individuals just like their fans. Than is half the fun of being a Nascar fan disagreeing with people that do have one thing in common.. The love of the Sport

  22. Sometimes.  I guess it depends on who.  If it is a real friend of mine. Or a contact that I like...I feel pretty bad about it.  But if the one who "disliked" my driver wasn't a nice person anyway...no it doesn't bother me and can be easily ignored.

  23. it doesn't bother me but ive never been on the other side of the fence when JR. nation starts throwing beer cans... and toilet paper lol.... i have been to those races and ive seen them do it just because jr didn't win..... but it doesn't bother me when people say they hate kyle busch, what makes it better is when people come up with off the wall stuff on why they dislike a driver..... like i hate it when so and so races so hard he's a lap down... like that driver should just give up and park his car

  24. No.  My friends and I like different drivers and its actually kinda fun to be able to "bash" the others drivers.  At the end of the day though its nice to be respectful of everybodys choices.  That is one of the reasons why I like NASCAR so much every driver out there has their own group of fans.

  25. Great question Lynn!

No it doesn't bother me a bit even if they're talking bad about him...everyone is entitled to their opinion. My driver is my driver your driver is your driver.....eveyone loves NASCAR! So right there is what we have in common!

  26. Not really. A little friendly rivalry can be fun.

It only bothers me when you see the same asker over and over repeatedly asking "questions" about one certain driver just to put him down. You have to wonder about people like that. Jr. is not my favorite driver, but I feel really bad for the Jr. fans on here.

  27. It doesn't bother me if someone doesn't like Matt.  I've never heard anyone complain, though.

  28. No because those people are wrong. It's mostly Jr fans  who dislike the rest of the drivers. Anything they say is not credible

And when someone says a driver should die or be injured really badly those people worry me. They need to get help.

  29. It used to, now I think I'm so used to it I'm immune.

  30. I read all who answered your question before me and noticed quite a few good answers. If someone is bashing without just cause that bothers me some. But if they are intelligent about their answers and views as they see it...then I can accept that easier. Sometimes they are right and I really cannot defend my favorite drivers even though I want to. What is right... is right. Always be a fan and have fun

  31. People has a right to dislike who they want to. There is a difference between disliking a driver while saying something negative and bashing in order to get under the skins of their fans. When that happens it is called trolling. There is a fine line between the two. People can be easily offended even when you give actual proof of your negative remarks. When someone always refers negatively towards other people's drivers it becomes apparent that they are just trolling. That's when I have a problem with it.
