first its faking a little girl into singing. a kid with a good voice but is not cute. so they find a young giirl whos adorable to better there image. may not seem like a big deal but small things add up. its obvious china has an image problem.

then you have their girls gymnastics team. it looks to me a couple of those girls are no more than 12 or 13 years old. seems like they want to win at all costs

  1. It is quite disgusting. I'm getting quite a few good laughs out of this olympics section than i had expected to.

  2. its extrememly unfair whats going on in the gymnastics, those girls shouldn't be playing and its what brought that to have more the 2x out amount of golds.. people should deffinitly start 'inspecting' this and find the real answer because this is ripping USA off and the judges are going along with the whole thing.. honeslty the whole gymnastics part is screwed up.

  3. *Gasp* why are the U.S media always on Hannah Montana, or Jamie Lynn Spears, well i don't know? Maybe same reason as China, publicity.

Who are you to say, that China had not given credit to BOTH of the girls?

"Win at all costs" As i've heard in the pasts, America has used more performance enhancing drugs than any other countries recorded.

To the contradictions, asians are small people, i'm one too. China doesn't have the sort of nutrition America has for their citizens. Puberty is factored by many things, nourishment is one example. Due to the short supply of nourishment, have you ever thought they are old enough and just tiny??

h**l, why don't we put out the US Female Gymnasts because they take steroids??

No i take it back, the US females were performing respectfully.

  4. China is what I like to call a Communist country. They are a lot like the old Soviet regime where they train their athletes from the time they start walking so they can be the best in the world and can prove their system is the best at all costs. At least us Americans are just forced into sports by our parents.

  5. Oh, and I suppose the mighty and honorable U.S. would never stoop that low...yeah right! Talk about image issues - the U.S. is so hung up on being the most popular that we would do anything to win. Just look at all our doping problems. I don't see the voice double as a big crime - its a show for crying out loud. Singing isn't a competition.

Just let the U.S. republicans run the next olympics and we'll see how screwed up it can be.

  6. I think its just awful and what they have put those girls through w/ taking them out of their home at an early age and they cant go home if they want to.  I just am terribly sorry for those children.

  7. Yes, i agree that the little girl lip singing was pretty ridiculous.

But as for the gymnasts come on give it up, do you even realise how many people are getting annoyed with americans whining about this, give it up, they bet you ! :)

  8. I agree, China is concerned with public image and winning at all costs to the point of fabracation and cheating. This has been a good opportunity to see what China is all about and I have to say I am saddened and not very impressed.

  9. Why would it bother you? I still have to work and pay my bills. The Chinese are doing a great job with the Olympics.

  10. No.

Before the Olympics, they banned two of their athletes for life for failing their own extreme drug testing regime. One of them was a gold medal hope.

They admitted to the CGI fireworks without hesitation.

They admitted to the lip syncing without hesitation.

They provided documentation on their gymnasts the moment they were asked.

Just how much further backwards do you want them to bend to please you?

  11. They definately do things differently over there...

To be honest the sporting events have been amazing so far - the athletes have performed very well for their respective countries. However, in terms of the Olympics as a whole, it certainly won't go down as 'one of the best Olympics of all time'. They've already broken several of their bid promises, which is bad enough in itself.

  12. First of all, I'd like to say that I am Chinese and I've lived in China for 6 years.

I agree with you that the little girl lip singing was wrong. I have actually gotten in arguments with friends about this. She didn't deserve to be up there. But I also think if the little girl who's actually singing it doesn't mind, we shouldn't either.

I think we all realize that most Chinese people are just small. I'm 5' 0" and whenever I go into a restaurant, waiters always give me a sippie cup, even though I'm a teenager. Gymnastics also stunts your growth. I didn't believe it when they said Shawn Johnson was 16. Any of you watched the opening ceremony where Yao Ming marched out with that little boy who was an earthquake hero? Does he look like he's 9 years old? To me he looked like he was 5 or 6.

  13. Why should we?

  14. YEAH the US should have won gold!!
