Does it bug you when you're driving, and...?

You're driving on a multi-lane busy street, and you signal to turn right onto a street, and the person behind you immediately swerves into the left lane to pass you instead of just waiting patiently for two seconds? I always have this happen to me, and it kinda gets to me for some reason. A lot of the times, it's the way they swerve over, as if they're pissed that you have to turn right. Anyone have any opinion?

If they all do it, perhaps you are really slow in making the turn.

If you literally need 2 seconds, you're a roadblock.

Since it happens behind you, why bother. Focus on what you are doing (it'll speed you up, and reduce the likelihood of people passing you cause you're slow.

Um.. I'm the person behind that swerves! Because someone needs to turn but does it in such a slow way that i might get the yellow light! I hate it! actually.. I only hate it when the light turns yellow and I wanna go for it and the idiot in front of me making a right is taking  there sweet as s time. Other then that... no i CAN wait two seconds:)

Yes! It seems that an ingrained attitude exists now than in years gone by! It is also a dangerous maneuver to perform, because other people have a legal right to the road that occupies their lane!!!

Yeah, but what can you do?  It is unsafe, but people are in such a hurry these days.  Just let it go, and forget about it.  Sooner or later, Johnny Law will catch up with them and they'll be paying a ticket and have points against their license.

We live in an instant gratification society, people have very different personalities while they're driving; they tend to be more aggressive.

There are many idiosyncrasies that make me angry, like not signaling when changing lanes, especially when there is no room for them to pull in, speeders that slow down when your behind them, slow pokes in the fast lane.

Something to think about is; are you signaling in enough time? especially if this happens to  you every time .  It is my understanding that a driver should begin to signal at least a half of a block before turning.

There is a lot about driving that irks me.  Yes, I have noticed the phenomenon you speak of.  sometimes I am guilty of it because like the person in front of me is taking forever to slow down and make the turn.  It's like finally, get out of my way.  I'm not saying it's right - that's just how I fell sometimes.

I try not to let it bother me if they do then you don't have to worry about some numb skull behind you hitting you from not paying attention.  The only time I do that is if I feel I'm not going to be able to slow down enough not to ram you when you make the turn.  I guess you could just say its a choice, if you think about it there wasting money on the tires from swerving instead of hitting the brake and proceeding so their getting a fee either way.

I'm like the guy behind you, and let me tell you it's nothing personal.  I like to drive a certain way; at a constant speed.  If there's nobody in the left lane and you and I are in the right and you want to turn right, don't be offended if I just don't feel like slowing down.

I only "swerve" over if I'm in a rush and if there are a lot of cars on the road.  Everybody does the limit.  I'm sorry, but I DON'T.  If you're in front of me taking a right and there are cars behind me and to the left, I want to get in front of them so I don't end up behind the entire line of cars behind me.

YES.  I chalk it up to them trying to hem trying to feel better about themselves.  Seems like they get a sense of power from acting badass like they own the road and you are in the way.  It irks me too.

personally, I do that a lot, but only because I don't want to waste gas and burn my breaks. So I choose to change lane and let the car keep moving.

ya this really bothers me tooo. every day on my way out of school pushy people attempt to turn a one lane road into two lanes, because they just can't be patient and wait for two darn minutes!!!!! yup gets me fired up big time that causes accidents ya know. sheesh!!

i only go to the other lane if they have to turn left and there is no left turn lane, then you might have to wait a bit.

Sorry but I am one of those lane-changers. I am an impatient person and hate to be stuck behind slow drivers, or drivers that are slowing to turn, and if I see a gap in the traffic I will go for it.

And it is not because I am annoyed at the drivers that I am passing - I just feel a need to get from point A to point B as quickly as I can.

What DOES annoy me is people on the highway that drive slowly in the left lane.

However, in the case mentioned, since I would be behind you rather than in front, why are you so concerned? I would not be getting in your way or causing you to have to avoid me, so I fail to see what the problem is here.

Oh my God yes! Finally someone feels how I do!

I'm 19 and I can't stand that. The main road in my town is 40 mph and I usually slow down to 30 and turn. The whole process takes about 4 seconds to get pull over. But I've had people swerve and nearly cause an accident by doing that. So not only are they putting their dumb****** in a dangerous situation, if they get hit they could knock my car off the road too.

Unless someone is turning excessively slow, there's no excuse.

I'm 19 and I think we both have more common sense then some people twice our age.
