I don't have an internet plan. Does it cost anything to use AIM on the phone?

yeah, you would get charged as if it were a text message  

make sure you have the unlimited texting plan before you go on aim because you will get charged for every IM you send and receive

iming is the same as texting, so in a way youre "like" paying for texting

i think if you have unlimited texting it goes the same with iming
