It depends on your provider.  I am with AT&T and my unlimited picture/text plan covers texts from email accounts.  However, if I did not have the picture part of the plan, I would be charged for the data transferred.  I know Metro PCS covers it as well.  If I remember T-Mobile is about the same as AT&T.  You really should contact your cell phone provider and ask them which text package you have and if it covers such messages.  Most likely it will as most unlimited text plans cover unlimited picture messaging as well.
