You get the subscription by entering a code off of a card that you buy. You can get the cards at wal mart or target or something or off of xbox live. The silver subscription is free but you can't play with friends. YOu can buy off of xbox live by using the silver subscription. The cards range from 3 month to 12 month subscriptions. Sometimes games come with free 1 month trials. They cost up to 60 dollars.

It depends.

Firstly you need an internet account, possibly broadband, the price of that depends on your ISP.

You can create an online account through Xbox Live, which would be a silver account. This silver account will let you download demos and updates from Xbox live, but thats about it.

You can pay to get Xbox live Gold account, which will let you play online against your friends as well as the stuff that the silver account has. Also you get priority in demo downloads.

everyone with an xbox 360 can go online for free using a silver account.  this allows you to access free content on xbox live.  

if you want to access multiplayer games, you need a gold account which is $50 a year.  very cheap.

yes it does but you have a choice between a silver or gold membership.  You first need to get an adapter and link to a linksys.  From there you set up a account there on ur Xbox.  If u do the cheaper silver be careful because if u do the 1 month free gold trail it does not go back and it u have to pay for a new gamertag.  DON"T DO THE TRIAL.

Well you need broadband internet connection, i recommend 2mb/s or faster. Next connect your xbox to your router (if you dont have one youl need one of these aswel) via an ethernet cable. Next click connect to xbox live on you xbox dashboard on the Xbox Live tab.

If you want to play against other people using online multiplayer, you will have to purchase an Xbox Live gold account. You can do this buy either going to your local game store or by your xbox live in account managemant on the Xbox Live tab. For more info see the link below
