Does it cost money to switch phones? i have more details?

Question

my AT&T LGCU400 phone is unbeleivably messed up. i was telling my aunt about it. and she had an old at&t phone. if i bring it in to a store, is it going to cost money to switch them? and will they be able to save all my contacts and text messages and stuff? and will i have to sign a new contract?

Additional Details

i have a couple of problems .

1. the screen is white. so i can't see anything to go in and save stuff.

2. and the phone my aunt gave me is so old, it doesn't even have a sim card. i already checked...

if i didn't open the text messages and i put my sim card in a different phone will they show up? since i can't see the screen to save them...

yeah i answered ur first post, sorry friend; nothing has changed; text messages are on the phone physically; so even if u change to another phone, and unless u have an sd card to save ur pics to; there in the phones memory; so i hope this helps.

You don't have to take it to a store, just switch the sim card. I do that all the time and the cell phone company doesn't even know!

The pictures and texts dont' switch over with the card unless you saved them on there. Sometimes the contacts do... it just depends.
