Does it cost money to text to the united states?

So i live in canada in winnipeg manitoba and i was wondering does it cost extra to text someone in the states? i mean you text long distance normally so does it matter? does it cost if i text else where in canada? or what about if i go to say BC and text my friends here in winnipeg?

Usually a text is a text, no matter where it's being sent. So as far as it going across from BC to Winnepeg it should cost the same. As far as sending it out of our beautiful country, and into the US, it shouldn't cost anything extra, but it depends wether your mobile provider provides service in the US. My telus Pay and Talk couldnt send or receive texts in the States.

Most likely it will not cost extra, but the only way to know for sure is to ask your service provider.  I would do that before texting out of country.  You don't want to be stuck with an unexpected bill.

I would ask the service you are on, I'm sure they would give you a definte answer
