Well if you have a home network setup at your house (a computer, dsl or cable internet and a router) then your psp will wirelessly connect to your internet without any fees.

However if you are in a public place such as coffee shops, hotels, airports, and or restaurants they charge by the hour or per day usage to use their wirelessly internet.

There are certain places that offer free Wi-Fi internet without any fees.  Here is the website and locations.  Just click on your state and city and they will tell you the locations that you can connect to their wirelessly internet on your laptop, handheld device that has Wi-Fi such as the PSP.

You have to be in a WIFI area; it depends where you are. (i.e. Starbucks, etc...) Every place charges a different rate.
