  1. yes most of the time it costs money. Sometimes it is more expensive than others. You have to pay for dance wear and and dance shoes.

  2. What do you mean by a "class" not lessons. They are the same thing if you're just starting. You have to learn to dance before you can dance with skilled dancers, it's harder than it looks and it takes years to get good. I would say that unless you have a ton of natural talent (unlikely) and work your a** for the next few years than it's impossible to start a career as a dancer now. Most dancers your age who want to dance for a career are already going to art schools and auditioning for companies.

Yes it is going to cost you. I pay about $100 a month for three hours a week at my studio and that's pretty cheep. Not to mention about $50 for the right shoes, and any additional costume fees that your school might have you pay (at my studio it's $50.) You may also pay competition fees if you do manage to make it to an advanced class. I pay $75 for regionals and $100 for nationals.

I'm not trying to discourage you. I would recommend dance classes they are tons of fun and help get you into great shape. I just want to let you know that to be a serious dancer takes a lot of time and commitment. And a lot of money. I wouldn't get you hopes up for a carer in dance.

  3. Yeah I'm not sure that you can even take dance lessons for free.

I think it cost money I would call up the studio and ask how much it cost

  4. You can always check with the studio that teaches the form of dance that you want to learn.  Many studios offer scholarships to talented people.  You have to audition so they can see your talent potential and you may have to do some chores around the studio too.

    Good Luck!

  5. yeah it definitely costs money. I don't think you'll be able to find a place where they'll teach you to dance for free.

  6. For single classes (in Hip Hop), some are like $10 per class, some are like $15. Definately check out the studios in your area (or just ask people who know about dancing) before becomming committed to one studio. And classes like the one's you listed don't look like anything you just "jump" into without any prior experience. I'm 16, and I'm pretty good, but I want a little more training (possibly in other styles) before I audition for a talent agency (THESE are the people who get you auditions for music videos, shows etc..)  Good luck...

  7. yeah you have to pay a certain amount per class. plus shoes, they're not cheep, like 70 for hip-hop shoes. um and have you taken dance before, or like gymnastics or figure skating... cheer leading? if not you won't be put with people your age you, can't just start of in an advanced class. you have to work up to it over a couple of years.

  8. I take hip hop classes, and the studio is the best in my county, and the classes are only $55 a month, for once a week. You do have to pay for the hip hop classes, though, there is rarely places where you can find classes for free.
