Does it ever bug you that people don't use correct grammar in their questions?

What do you guys think? Is our world really just getting that relaxed about english education or are teenagers just lazy? It really doesn't take that long to write a complete sentense and it's not like there's only 60 characters to work with. So tell me, please, why grammar in writing is so terrible.

Thanks :)

  1. NO it doesn't bother me. Look at the point, not at the minutia of the language.

  2. Coz the important thing is to communicate and understand each other not by writing correctly

  3. Yes it bugs me. And the writing is so terrible because they forget how to spell really simple words. (I once knew someone who forgot how to spell and)

  4. no it doesnt bug me at all unless

    p30p13 @r3 wr1t1ng lyk3 th1$

haha and that took me like 10 minutes

its very funny how people right like that just to look 'cool' when they just sound like pure idiots

  5. Absolutely. It makes me twitch! My thing about it is with a message site like this, it is your first and (sometimes only) impression of the person. I'm beginning to wonder if no one ever learned how to spell or capitalize the first letter in a sentence. I'm not even obsessed with grammar in real life or anything- but maybe they should change it so you can only enter a question if everything is correctly spelled!

  6. It is one of my "pet peeves"! I hate to see the English language so butchered!

Education is lacking, and people are to lazy to learn how to properly express their thoughts.

  7. I think it has more to do with a relaxed societal view of grammar, largely due to the Internet.  I'd blame teenagers, but teens have always been lazy so it must be something else.

I try not to let it bug me

  8. not really becauze people are jusst trying to save some time as oppose to spending more time and typin gperfectly. its just not worth your time when you think about all the better  things to do out there.

  9. You know...contractions should not be used in formal writing either so you could say that you are not taking the time to do it right also.

I guess it just depends on how formal or relaxed you want to be perceived as.

  10. It's not just teenagers. I'm seventeen and my grammar is better than a lot of adults I come across.

But yes, bad grammar does bother me quite a bit unless I can tell that English is not their first language. That is understandable. Otherwise, it it really that hard to spell and write correctly?

On Y!A, I usually won't answer the question or, to be honest, am more likely to give a rude answer.

  12. No, this is a message board on the internet

I just babble letting my poor grammar and spelling mistakes run rampant.

I've already stressed myself out enough writing essays and reports for school -this is a place for me to relax.

  13. It bothers me when people make blatant mistakes that make me strain to read it, but if it's something little like spelling sentence wrong I don't care. When people are completely careless is ticks me off. If you aren't intelligent enough to write so people can at least understand, then don't post.

Why in the world did I get thumbs down? I would think that everyone would want to be able to read the question. Jeez.

  14. Yes all the time! Soon english will be degraded into one letter or a number for a single word. I wonder what the future will behold with the english language. It has certainly lost its style.
