Does it help to click on links to affect search engine results?

If I want to suppress a "bad link" that leads to a newspaper article that was wrongly quoted does it do any good to do a websearch and click on the many "good links" to move them to the top, or is this a waste of time?

  1. Good Question.

I would be interested in hearing more about this specifically.

That being said, searching for and clicking on the good links will move them to the top of YOUR search results but not everyone's so technically it would be a waste of time.

Without knowing more about this there are a couple of things to do.

Option one, realize that there is no such thing as bad press unless it is an obituary notice. (not much comfort I know)

Option two, If there is only one place that has it wrong, post more links from more places to the one's that get it right.

Well optimized pages that point to the correct information should easily bury the dumb links.

    Good luck
