  1. My brother had em but I didn't need them. He kept b!tching at me about how bad it hurt, but I think he just wanted attention. A good friend of mine went through the same thing, but he said it didn't hurt at all. Maybe it just depends.

  2. It hurts more to get them on. It takes about an hour to get them off.

  3. I took one a my braces off on accident and i didnt even feel it

    it takes about a hour

i dosnt hurt bad but it hurts a little but your getting them off so go eat so laffy taffy!

  4. NOOOOOOO it doesn't hurt at all. it took me about, hm, half an hour? the glue comes off pretty easily. you'll prolly have to wear a retainer at night, every night for the firt two years, every other night two years after, and then at least two nights a week forever after tho.

  5. No, it doesn't hurt. You don't even feel it. It goes by pretty fast actually. They scrap the glue off and to me that was the worst part only because I don't like the sound of scraping. and you'll have some glue still stuck to your teeth afterwards but it will come off soon. But don't worry. Let me guess, when you got your braces on people said it wasn't bad at all. (That usually is what happens) Was it as bad as you thought? Getting them off isn't painful at all. Trust me on this.

  6. My dentist despises me 'cuz of the teeth I was born (blessed) with!!  Tell the doc "don't even tell me when you think it will hurt.  Let's discuss where you went for the summer (vacation) or this coming Christmas.  If you tell me about my teeth it is gonna hurt, like getting shot {if they would talk about schoolwork instead, that wouldn't hurt either}.  Tell me about your kids, parents' health, anything but PLZ don't tell me when you think it will hurt.

Oh! and for that shot business, whether the nurse is taking blood out or putting something in, if everything but what is happening is talked about instead, you won't feel it at all!   ----from someone w/ rolling veins

[that means if the needle isn't at the PERFECT angel, the nurse/doc is GONNA miss!  and I'm gonna get violent - kicking, punching, biting...]

With me they get ONE chance with the needle!  PERIOD!

  7. It does not hurt at all. It feels really different though.

Taking them off is pretty fast, like between 5-15 minutes. For me, at least. Then they scrape off any excess glue off of your teeth, but that doesn't hurt either.

It's not that hard getting the glue off, but I got my braces off 6 months ago and there is still very little glue on my teeth, that is unnoticeable, that still won't come off even when I brush my teeth.

You shouldn't worry because those pain in the azzes will be off in a month!

  8. Does it matter?! You're getting them off, thats ALL you should be caring about =D

  9. it's been a while for me but i don't remember any pain... other than some discomfort when they take the brackets off your molars in the back... other than that it takes like 5  minutes and your teeth feel slimy and free!

  10. It takes about an hour and it doesn't hurt at all.  Although to get the glue off, they take this scraper thing, it's different than what they use at the dentist, but it's really annoying because of all scraping.  I just didn't like it.  I don't know about anybody else, but when I got mine off my gums bled for a few minutes after they took the bands off.  I think it was because the bands had been deep in my gum and when they took them out they bled.

  11. they pop off pretty quick. you'll feel some pressure, then it's off. and then your mouth will feel wierd for a few days. good wierd, like slimy. trust me, you won't mind!

i had braces for 3 yrs, but i got them off 15 yrs ago. (it's been that long? ouch) listen to your orthodontist and wear your retainers as he says to.

  12. It feels so good to finally get them off.  It doesn't hurt at all.  You will be surprised at how they just pop off the teeth so easily.  It takes about 10 minutes, then they polish your teeth and get the remaining glue off.

  13. I dont know but does it hurt to get them on

  14. They take care of getting all of the glue off of your teeth. they scrape it off with special tools so you dont have to deal with it. and then they use a tiny spinning sandpapery thing that files ridges off of your teeth to shape 'em up.

    It takes about 2 hours.

No it doesnt hurt. your teeth just feel weird (more like different)

i think they feel like smooshy bread.

I kept l*****g mine, its the best feeling in the world! I couldnt stop smiling.

the only thing that may hurt an tiny bit is chewing. its just because your teeth havent been able to wiggle around for a LONG time!

    good luck. and SMILE!

  15. no, they're just gonna scrape and clean the cement off your teeth. Feels much better afterwards after wearing braces for so long.

  16. idk but it didnt hurt getting them on (getting them off in feb. of 09)

  17. i hated the part where they polished all the glue off because it was extremely cold and took about 10 consecutive minutes.  Other than the polishing it doesn't hurt.

  18. Mine didn't really hurt, it was like my mouth was glad to be rid of the metal.

I had mine taken off a few years ago, and it might've taken about 1/2 hour or so.

It would be hard to remove the glue if you didn't have the correct tools I would think haha :)

Your teeth will feel and look about 10 sizes too big for your mouth until you get reaccustomed to them without the braces on.

    Hope that helps :)

  19. not at all! the front teeth may feel a little weird, butthat'ss just because they are thinner than the others. mine were done in about 15 minutes. and the orthodontist should take the glue off for you!

  20. dont freak out. it doesn't hurt at all. they just pop them off really easy you cant even feel it. they may have to scrap off some of the glue thats left but that doesn't hurt either. if they give you a retainer its just a little piece of plastic, no big deal. it shouldn't take that long, they always schedual in extra time for that stuff. your teeth will feel great when your all done! They cut the brackets from your teeth with plier-type implements, then they wear down the brace cement with another tool. After that they take a mould of your teeth and later in the day your retainer should be ready. Mine is simply a clear plastic cast of my teeth. I had to wear it all day for the first week or so, but after that I only had to wear it at night.ahhh its soooo weird!!!! i had mine on for 4 lonnngg years and i remember exactly what it was like.

okay. its KIND OF creepy- but not really...he takes this metal tool and he pops all the brackets off your teeth (sounds worse than it is) it doesn't really hurt at all..maybe a LITTLE but it sounds AWFUL like cracking and popping noises. then if he has to he will scrape some of the glue off of your teeth.

when you finally close your mouth it feels SO weird because you are used to the rough metal and its just smooth teeth and your teeth feel like theyare too far back because the metal was pushing into your lip before HAHA

  21. it takes about and hour and nope it doesn't hurt at all!! IT FEELS SOOO COOL!! you're teeth are like all slimy after!!

  22. It's not that bad. It hurt more to have them put on. It goes by fairly fast. However, the glue/cement isn't pleasant to have removed. They usually get it off, but my dentist is an idiot and didn't do too good of a job.

  23. It didn't hurt getting mine off
