I know it stings a little more in chlorine than just bath water, but I hate little unnecessary pains! However, I REALLY want to be able to do that. I just want to know how bad it hurts. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. At first it feels uncomfortable as you are not used to it.  Depending on the chlorine levels at your pool, it may be less or more.  It should not hurt to the point that you can not.  If it does, the chemicals need to be checked.  Best way is to submerge with your eyes closed and open them while underwater.  I regularly swim without goggles and have no problem.  Yes, if I keep them open for long periods of time the eyes do get irritated.  For recreational swimming, this should not be a problem.  Goggles are great but for safety reasons, you should get comfortable without them.  (Most do not fall in water wearing goggles)

  2. Are you kidding me? It doesn't hurt that bad ha ha!

  3. Salt water stings a bit but you can still open them.

why not just wear goggles if it botheres you?

  4. yes it does!!! but only if there is chlorine in the pool.

  5. I open my eyes at the pool, underwater, all the time.

    Doesn't bother me.

but at the end of the day, everything looks a lil more white than it should.

    haha.

  6. Its just annoying cuz everything is blurry and if you do it a lot then ur eyes mite burn and everything will look white but it doesnt hurt to do it.

  7. it doesn't hurt bad in chlorine you just have to get used to it. have you ever been in a saltwater pool? if you open your eyes it feels good and you can see clearly.i know thabecausese my friend claire has a saltwater pool with water slide and the water on the water slide is freezing cold!! and the pool is sooo refreshing! glad to help

  8. Your eyes won't hurt unless you are swimming continuously for at least an hour.  If your eyes start to bother you, try some visine or take a nap.

  9. It's not that bad at all. Not really painful, more just irritating.

  10. it doesnt hurt your eyes just goa little  blury underwater coz of the water, if its in chlorine your eyes may get irritated a little after your swimming session

  11. Depends on the pool or where you're swimming...just try it.  It only hurts for a little while - Visine helps when you're done!!

  12. How much it hurts depends on the level of chlorine in the pool Usually it doesn't even hurt while you're doing it. Your eyes will just get a bit dry, and sometimes itchy, afterwards. Just to let you know though, it's really not all that great. It's not like your wearing goggles; everything is very fuzzy.

  13. nope. doesn't hurt. you just need to go for it. and after a while your eyes get irritated but you can deal. no pain at all =]
