  1. It's very common to have your eyes dilated at a routine eye exam. I'm not sure what it checks for either, but the best way to describe the feeling that the drops give you is numbness -- certainly not pain.

  2. No it doesn't hurt but you will need to wear sunglasses when you get out in the sun after wards.

  3. They usually use a certain type of eye drop, such as tropicamide, and to people unused to getting any eye drops it can be scary. But it doesn't hurt, you will feel a slight twitch though...

I use to get eye drops every hour, night and day, so I should know!

  4. No it just means your pupils are getting wider. Eyedrops aren't that bad. You just have to get used to them.

  5. no

  6. No honey it doesn't hurt a bit.  I have had to have it done since the age of 9 (I'm 31 now).  all they do is put special drops in that make your cornea react and become large.  then they dim the lights and look into your eyes with that huge mess of lenses. Your doctor will have you look up and down and to the sides.  When he does it to me he s looking for ruptured blood vessels behind the eye.  Your eyes will be a little sensitive to light for only a short time after they are done as the effects of the drops only last for a half hour or less.  There will be no pain involved what so ever. PROMISE & Cross my heart.

  7. No it doesn't trust me I have had plenty of dilation's in my eyes and eye drops do not hurt, look at it this way the dilation of your eyes is a normal occurrence in all people (:!

  8. Nah it does not hurt at all, just feels a little funny (had it done several times)... all he wants to do is see the blood vessels in your eyes... but be careful if you go in bright sunlight... your pupils are wide open and the light could hurt... wear sunglasses after...

  9. no it doesnt hurt. the stuff they put in your eye may sting a little but it doesnt hurt. :)

  10. it stings for about 45 seconds

  11. No and it doesn't sting either...they are just trying to scare you. they put in a drop to numb your eyes first so you won't feel anything.

  12. The drops sting a little for only a second, then it doesn't hurt at all. Your pupils will get very big, so bring your sunglasses because your going to be a little light sensitive for a couple hours. No pain, no suffering, I promise.

  13. The drops may sting a little bit but they don't really hurt.  The biggest thing is that they will take pictures of your eyes and you may experience seeing flashing spots for a few minutes and then your eyes will be extra sensitive to light for a while so wear sunglasses outside.  I've had my eyes dialated quite a few times.  It's not fun but it doesn't hurt.
