Does it intimidate you to have a woman look you in the eye?

Why do so many men tell me that when I look them in the eye they think I am mean? I am not mean and I hardly raise my voice. But when I have men come in for an interview at my company the word gets back to me that they ask other employee's am I mean. The reason they ask is because they say that I looked them in the eye the whole conversation, but I get this from women also. So does it bother you when a woman looks you in the eye during a conversation?

You SHOULD look people in the eye.. but NOT constantly!!!

You look for about 15-20 seconds then you look away, then you look back. You don't just STARE at them!! Come on now.. this is basic.

If you look like a Lion hunting a gazelle then of course people will be uncomfortable!

They are probably just intimidated by you because they are so insecure about themselves. Keep looking them in the eye, that is simply called having manners & giving your wholehearted attention to them.

Look but avoid STARING, it can give the wrong impression. If you find yourself staring a lot check with your doctor, it could be symptom of a thyroid condition.

There is a difference about looking a person into the eye (to show you are listening) and staring.

Staring will make them think that you are a nut case. An people feel weird around a nut case.

Why do you and other women mistake intimidate with mean? Those are two distinct reactions. Just because someone doesn't like you you shouldn't feel the need to re-affirm your self esteem by claiming the person was "intimidated", therefore putting the fault on them and not yourself.They thought you were mean, and they didn't like you because of it. Simple as that.
