China has 12 more golds than America right now and 1 medal ahead of the USA

Does it look like they will win?

Track & field hasn't started yet and swimming is not over!

  1. No, China has many gold medals in events the the United States is not very good at, such as weightlifting and shooting. We are dominant in the short track, which China is quite bad at. It is impressive, though, to see that China has almost twice as many gold medals as silver and bronze medals combined.

  2. No, I'm pretty sure the US will end up with more medals. With Michael Phelps on our side in swimming (I've barely seen any Chinese win gold in swimming.)

Also, when track and field is over I'm pretty sure China will be left in our dust. We have so many amazing track runners in the country.

Although China has defeated us in things like gymnastics and sancrenised diving. We've gotta give them that.

  3. Jesus, where's the cheating? History has shown that host countries get a 30-40% boost in medal count; and China has been rising its medal count steadily since its first participation.

I knew they were going to explode in 2008. They will probably beat the U.S. in gold medal count by a small margin; while losing in total medal count.

But who cares about silver and bronze anyways? Second place is the first loser, and that's Asian mentality. We are very competitive... Just look at the Men's team gymnastics final. The U.S. was jumping up and down with bronze, while Japan was clearly upset with the silver. We only strive to be the best.

  4. I think China will have the most golds this Olympics, but I think American will end up with more medals overall.

  5. I think China will win because China plays really well. All these non-sense about underage, well those are just for sore losers. If you notice, US media ranks countries based on total medal. But, any other countries and the official Olympic based on gold medals. US is basically a sore loser. Sad but true.

China has more people and if they train hard and win, that is natural, if not scientific.

  6. Specify what type of golds - those won fairly, or those won by cheating?

  7. The Americans think they can overtake China in the medal tables during the second week with their sprinters, but the Jamaicans will win too many events.

  8. To be completely honest, I think USA will blowout everybody in the total medals and probably beat China by 1-2 golds.

Look at it this way. China has won 5 gold medals only in weightlifting, and that event has passed. Gymnastics has just about passed as well except for women's all-around competition, and Shawn Johnson of USA is the favorite. USA will obviously win in softball and basketball.  USA will also compete in just about every single running race for both genders with stars like Allison Felix and Tyson g*y.

I dont know much about China, but it seems the 110 meter hurdles with Li Xiang is their best chance at gold in track and field, and thats only 1 event.

oh, i completely forgot about Phelps and swimming. well, you know what going to happen there...

  9. Of course China will win more gold, America will probably have more medals but gold is what counts....and Vanilla swimming is almost over for Michael Phelps so he won't be earning any more golds for the US.

  10. The Olympic Commitie needs to find out the ages of the China gymnatics  girls.  I don't think they are really old enough.

  11. by any means necessary?

  12. I think it's gonna be pretty close because it's pretty hard to decide since the olympics started less than a week ago. I think China might win slightly by the amount of gold but America is definatly going to win for the most amount for medals for sure. I might be wrong.

I'm chinese so I'm rooting for China!!

Edit: I don't think china cheats...
