Liquid Pearl falls down her face

brow is set in stern defiance

Judge grips the gun

a memory plays

Trigger slips

life will flash before the eye

World fades into red

as Cara sleeps…

her last memory still playing

-I hope the reason for the title will soon become clearer… I would love to know your thoughts on this… it is not the end of the line…

Still gripping. I'll look for Part Two now. Because the words were capitalized, my first reaction was that "Liquid Pearl" was the name of a women's cosmetic, like a hair conditioner or a face cream.

The one part that bothers me is when you say 'life WILL flash before the eye,' as it seems to be in a different tense when compared to the rest of the stanza.

Indeed, I would grip the arms of my chair if my chair had any arms...but sadly, they have been sawed off in order for my chair to fit neatly beneath my laptop desk.

I am stunned...Cara has actually been executed.  Or am I missing something?  Or, another possibility, is there some bit of magic yet to be written that will mitigate this horror? I will be waiting impatiently to find out.  I wonder what her last memory is......Thank you.
