Does it make sense to have text messaging if I have a blackberry?

I'm thinking of getting a blackberry but with the $30 per month Verizon fee, I was thinking of eliminating txt messaging. Does it make sense to do this, is there a way people can still text me and I can have the texts converted to e-mails for me?

  1. no u need texting that makes no since...unless u dont use texting that much

  2. I have the iphone and only use emails pretty much.  It saves me since the iphone plan only includes 200 texts.  You can send them to anyone's cell phone through email as well (and it will show up to them as a txt).  Also when they hit reply it will get sent back to your email, so its all free for you! Here is a list of all the email addresses for each carrier:

  3. Blackberrys are all about txting. I dont suggest you spend all the money if you dont get it. Texting is amazing so itd be kinda dum to take it off.

  4. I have a Blackberry with tmobile and have text messaging because if I chat with Yahoo!, it counts as a text message.  If text messages are a part of your plan, don't bother but you can always add it later.

  5. I switched from Verizon to Tmobile bc I was trying to save on my bill. I think you may still have problems with being charged for incoming texts....you may also have to set up your blackberry email so people can send you messages that way. Also text messages are big for any cell just about. Why dont you try and get unlimited everything.
