Does it make you angry when you want to discuss politics to have opposing opinions?

That's the only reason I can think of for all of the bogus violation reporting going on.

You would rather only have discussions with people who think and say the same things as you do------right?

I must admit I do have strong opinions----yet have to say I do enjoy hearing opposing views---even strong ones---because it makes me think---go ahead---speak out.

  1. When you don't have any opposition, your not really having a discussion!  Your giving a speech.  I welcome opposing views in the same manner that you do, they make me think & perhaps even change my mind!

  2. I think anyone who uses violations in order to get their point across is weak. I don't do that. I only report people who are clearly acting stupid. Opposing opinions are good when people learn from each other. When people don't want to listen to each other there is only 1 inevitable conclusion.

This will not end with Obama. This is only the beginning.

  3. Quite frankly, no it doesn't!  The reason FOR a discussion is to hear other opinions.  I know that some people do get rather testy when their opinion is met with an opposing view, and as far as I am concerned, those people should keep their thoughts to themselves if they can't be objective.  We don't have to agree with others but the open communication and exchange of thoughts and beliefs is what creates a broader knowledge.

Don't ask if you don't want to hear!!!

    Good luck!

  4. No, I love to hear apposing opinions, however when they start the Bush this and Bush that...   Conversation over.

  5. No, I welcome different opinions.  That helps to see the other side.  We all see things differently.  It is the name calling and yelling that gets to me.  No need for it.  I don't report any one tho.  That is childish.

  6. I'm open for discussion I made the choice to vote Hillary now Obama wants my vote but I disagree with his policies so McCain 08' is my man!!!!!!

  7. Honestly, I love opposing views. That is the only way I can sharpen my skills. I don't fear that someone disagrees with me and I hope that they don't fear my views. As a conservatives I honed my skills and knowledge in the trenches. I once was a liberal. And many years before Rush Limbaugh came into the scene, I was already leaving liberalism and moving on over to the Conservative camp. I can say that I am at least 15 years ahead of Limbaugh.

When someone brings an opposing view, don't try to disagree with them. Rather let them talk all they want. Let them give the reasons for their positions. You will find that some issues you can agree and some you are totally in disagreement. But hone your skills and stand firmly in what you believe in. But be educated about it. Regardless of your political inclinations. If liberal, be educated about your ideals. Don't let the media feed you how you are suppose to think. And the same is applicable for conservatives.

As to why you are being reported, no one really has control over that matter. We are all at the mercy of trolls. The arena of free ideas, dies here at Y/A.

  8. Well, I actually read the question, and the answer is, yes, it does make me mad.  I saw a question that was really a comment about how another yahoo answers user was trying to unite all politics answerer's on one side of the spectrum (I won't say which one) and report all questions that were in support of the candidate on the other side.  If this is the type of thing that they want to do, why participate in a forum like this at all?  If you want to just discuss things with people who think exactly the same way, go to some message board and express your love for one candidate and hatred for another there--don't mess with someone's standing in the yahoo community just because you don't like what they say.

  9. I wouldn't come here if I didn't want to hear opposing opinions.  I just have a real aversion to having the nonAmericans in the mix when discussing American policies and government.
