This Q infuriated me:

My partner works 60 hours a week at two jobs for minimum wage. I stay home with out 20 month old son in the week and work on weekends whilst my partner has our son, so we don't have to leave him in childcare.

We're constantly skint, exhausted and have little time together.

But do you know what? We earn our own money and are not scrounging off the Government! We get a little tax credits as our earnings are so low but thats it (plus child benefit which everyone gets).

So why do our taxes have to support people like this whose partner's already earn a good-ish wage (better than my other half earns) and still expect the state to support them!

If we sat around on our backsides all day not working we'd probably end up better off.

I makes me wonder why we bother working when scroungers seem to have it so much easier - this woman even admits she has cable TV and a car!!!!

  1. I sympathise with your sentiments, however by your going out to work part time or otherwise you are playing right in to the hands of the femenist hard line lefties!!  I know how hard it is,  I will not be forced by any means back into work and leave my children in the hands of some barely out of school moron in a nursery. My husband works full time and whilst we enjoy lots of family time we have to go without luxuries such as cable tv. Well done you, but how much nicer for you and and your family if you could just accept a little more help and stay at home with your son. However this government are only interested in throwing money at single parents, like this women. It is the agenda of this governemnt to divide and rule, break up famillies either because they are better off living apart or because the pressure we are now under puts an intolerable strain on our relationships. However the likes of hariet harperson beleive that fathers are superfluous luxuries rather than essential to family life.

  2. Sorry to p**s you off but now after going to Uni in 97 I work the least hours I have done & earn more than I have ever done.

Alas to my fellows living in the UK a grant for study is now unavalible, which is one of the reasons why I dispise new labour.

They have no idea about social mobility.

  3. Welcome to most blue collar/working classes world....

  4. Elect more democrats and see more of the same.

  5. Hang on.  Her partner works.  So how does that insult you?

You're getting tax credits, and no doubt child benefit for your son as well. So my tax is paying for your family.

Perhaps you should stop getting so angry - it's not setting a good example to your son.

  6. Good point; some people just know how to abuse the system.

  7. I can see where this contributor is coming from! The system needs a good overhaul! But unfortunately you have the wrong political party in power to do anything about it!

Why?Most of the benefit seekers/gainers are Labour voters! As they say!The Devil looks after his own!

As for me!As a pensioner!I am dreading this coming winter! With the price of heat and food!It is literally!Eat ot heat!

But I am not relying on this government to do anything! They might as well be on another Planet! Why?Most of them are millionaire solicitors and lawyers! Who have made their money after a life time in parliament exploiting the taxpayer!Manipulating the expenses claims!

    Down with Brown!
