  1. Here is an excerpt from FM 21-20........THE PUSH-UP EVENT

MEASURES THE ENDURANCE OF THE CHEST, SHOULDER, AND

TRICEPS MUSCLES. ON THE COMMAND ‘GET SET,’ ASSUME

THE FRONT-LEANING REST POSITION BY PLACING YOUR HANDS

WHERE THEY ARE COMFORTABLE FOR YOU. YOUR FEET

MAY BE TOGETHER OR UP TO 12 INCHES APART. WHEN VIEWED FROM THE SIDE, YOUR BODY SHOULD FORM A GENERALLY STRAIGHT LINE FROM YOUR SHOULDERS TO YOUR ANKLES.  Straight from the book...... have a good one

  2. According to the regulation, you can place your hands in a position that is comfortable for you.  So, no.  Your feet can be up to 12 inches apart.

  3. I agree with the first poster, also most units will make you choose if you want to use the mat or not.  If you use the mat, you must keep both hands on the mat.
