  1. It depends on the heat; leaving it in a car on a hot summer day probably won't lead to anything dangerous.

  4. Yes, I have had several cheapie disposable lighters explode on the dashboard of my car.

    I also had a friend who was a welder.  Some slag melted through the lighter in his fronts pant pocket, ruining the pocket, tis underwear and one t******e. So you see, smoking is bad for you.

  5. It depends on how hot.

    A quick Google search found that a lighter is fine until about 130 degrees Fahrenheit, at which point it can combust.

    So if where you're keeping the lighter is less than 130 degrees (which it probably is) I'd say you're fine.

  6. i assume you are referring to propanr or butane lighters and i concur with tigereye.
