  1. i always put the shiny side closer to the food, as i think the reflection speeds up the cooking...

    other than that, i dont think it matters

  4. Shiny side in, since it reflects the heat and cooks faster.

When I first started cooking, people used to say the shiny side needed to be out.  But I received information from a company that makes the aluminum foil and they said it doesn't matter.  One side is shiny because of the machine that makes the foil.  Both sides reflect the heat the same way so - it doesn't matter.
